We are delighted to announce that we’ll be joining The Mix by Bert & May: a new East London destination celebrating craftsmanship, colour and collaboration.
Opening on 1 November on Vyner Street, Bethnal Green, The Mix is an exciting new collaborative showroom that brings together a curated selection of leading British design studios — including Farrow & Ball, Pluck, Sophie Cooney, Kréte, Popham Design and Thomas Crapper — all under one inspirational roof.
Set within an industrial canal-side space with exposed brickwork and Crittall-style windows, the showroom offers a striking backdrop for each partner’s display. Rooted in Vyner Street’s heritage of industry, art and creativity, The Mixreimagines the traditional showroom as a hub of craftsmanship and inspiration. Visitors can look forward to a rich programme of events with local creators — from supper clubs to cocktail evenings — celebrating community, creativity and collaboration.
We’ll be presenting a vibrant curation of our hand-blown glass and ceramic lighting, featuring our new Pastello Bathroom Collection and the sculptural Carnival series, alongside bespoke one-off pieces created especially for Vyner Street.
Our Pastello lights blend hand-cast porcelain with semi-opaque glass in gentle pastel tones, coral, lemon, lilac and eggplant, creating pieces that glow with warmth and tactility. Meanwhile, Carnival takes cues from the geometric Harlequin motif, combining glass, porcelain and turned wood in playful stacked forms that balance geometry and softness.
We’re also unveiling a new Coral Ciao pendant, designed especially for Pluck’s kitchen installation within The Mix, along with an expressive Bonbon wall light, a tassel wall light created in collaboration with Jessica Light, and a large Bubble pendant — unique one-off pieces that continue our exploration of craftsmanship and colour.
Throughout The Mix, our lighting will illuminate the collaborative spaces: a pair of Tutti Globes in the Pluck kitchen, a large Bubble pendant in Blush and Purple, and Coral Ciao swivel wall lights. A Wave Chandelier in Steel Blue, Smoked Olive, Blush and Aubergine will hang over the communal meeting table, while the Ottoline area will feature a tassel light and a Smoked Olive Fabio pendant. A striking installation of pendants in varying colours and forms will frame the Crittall window, casting a dynamic display of light and colour across the space.
As our founder and designer Esther Patterson says:
“We’re thrilled to be joining The Mix. It feels like such a natural fit — working alongside other inspiring British designers brings a wonderful sense of community and shared purpose. Having a space where we can exchange ideas, host events and welcome both designers and customers is incredibly exciting. We can’t wait to be part of this new adventure in Hackney.”
We’ll be sharing sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes moments as we get ready to open — stay tuned for the full reveal of our new space at The Mix!
