In 2021,internationally renowned designer Adam Nathaniel Furman teamed up with CURIOUSA founder, Esther Patterson, to create The GLOWBULE COLLECTION. This perfect synergy of Adam designing and Esther and her team developing the building, resulted in four stunning new lighting designs which were exhibited at Decorex International 2021.
The designs are created by carefully stacking individually free blown semi-opaque glass elements. Each glass orb is blown without moulds and shaped by hand and eye, making every shape slightly different. By combining gorgeously rich candy colours with these beautifully organic shapes and lighting each piece with a centrally suspended linear LED light, we created the sumptuous GLOWBULE COLLECTION.
Esther adds “It was a great challenge to create these rather eccentric light pieces. The making of them certainly pushed us out of our comfort zone but the final result was worth it. Also, I think the colours Adam put together from our range are a tribute to their inspired colour sensibility. I just love how brave Adam is when designing – there’s a really strong and dynamic vision.
Spotted at an exhibition by the team sourcing for the BARBIE film sets, CURIOUSA and Adam were asked if the floor and table lamps could be used in their upcoming BARBIE film. Well of course we said YES! Subsequently, the Glowbule Floor Lamp has been exhibited at the LONDON DESIGN MUSEUM – Celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Barbie brand and we’ve heard it will be on tour – so watch this space.
